    Looking for Bach Shelties

Bach doesn't breed anymore, may not even exist. Deb got out of the business. There is Belmark Kennels that did some co-breeding with Bach some years ago and Belmark is still breeding/showing. I had a Bach Boy, my beloved Randy whom I got from them in 2001. He was a Merridon Covewind...

    Nails seem dry after Dremel

Casey continues to not like the Dremel but he will let me do it if I persist with him. His nails seem a bit dry and cracked behind. Is there something I can put on them? Kim & Casey

    My Sheltie is part rabbit...

My Casey does the same thing. I put him in a sit, which he holds for maybe five seconds, then he starts bouncing up & down, up & down. He actually chipped a baby tooth doing this. Regarding counter surfing, my Cooper was oversized and an excellent counter surfer. I would find myself...

    He suddendly hates the dremel

Thanks Ann. I will just have to start over. I have the dremel & nail clippers out and plan to just do a little reintroduction sometime today. I hadn't thought of trimming the fur on his pads with him laying on his back between my legs, that's how I "attempt" the dremel. Might try to with the...

    He suddendly hates the dremel

Casey has always been pretty tolerant of the dremel for his nails. However for the last few weeks he just about refuses to let me dremel. He bites at the dremel and I have nightmares of him grabbing it and the dremel buzzing around in his mouth. He has gotten bad about letting me trim the fur...

To get a Blue merle or not

Perhaps they have a confirmation problem--going to be too small, too big, etc. You could ask her why she is selling those two. If she breeds to show, it's probably just they don't measure up to show standards. I've had three shelties. One sable and one a blue merle--both were oversized...

Apple Acres Associated Press X Spring Bloom

Last month at our training class I stumbled upon my boy Casey's litter sister, Raffie. They are from a mating whelped 4/11/13 of Apple Acres Associated Press (Scoop) & Apple Acres Spring Bloom (Daisey), bred by Rosetta Perry in Bardstown KY. Just wondering if any of Casey's littermates are...

    Tri Color question

Thanks everyone. It is a rust color, not a problem for me. I think it's cute. Probably from the sun, although he's in & out during the day. My sweet boy.

    Tri Color question

Hello, My little tri boy is 13 months old. The top layer of his coat is beginning to grow out and is red on the ends. He's my first tri, just wondering if that is normal coloring? When I think of tri's I think of solid black coat with the tan patches. The red coloring is very pretty, just...

    fading the lure

My Casey is just too smart I guess. Trying all the suggestions but if he doesn't smell the treat/lure, he aint going down. I do use hand signals and the only three times he has actually went down, which were more than a month ago, was with the hand signals. We will keep trying. The "down" is...

    fading the lure

Casey is still not doing a down without my using a lure. I know I've used it waaay to long (blame Petsmart training). I'm trying to fade it now, but Casey is very smart and intune with what I'm doing. I fade the lure, he looks: No lure, no down. Any suggestions?

    Sheltie Weight

Hi, My Casey turned one on 4/11. He weighs 19 - 20 lbs. He is not a big husky sheltie, perhaps 14" at shoulder, kind of lanky right now. I am asking if this is a good weight for a "normal" size sheltie? My two other shelties were both oversized and had a husky build. Both got overweight...

    Goodbye Trace - my sunshine

For me, "the verge of tears" is a constant companion. I lost my Randy Jan 16, 2013 and I still sometimes cannot say his name with tearing up. My babies that have been gone much longer can still reduce me to tears, but losing Randy ripped my heart right out. Hope you can get your new baby next...

    Swollen Tonsils

Casey's left tonsil was back in the crypt yesterday but still a little large. Right tonsil still out of the crypt. Vet (our regular vet) thinks maybe allergies, but I'm relieved that the one tonsil has receeded.

    Swollen Tonsils

Casey was treated about 11 days ago for enlarged and red tonsils. Tonsils still enlarged. We're going back to vet today. He had same problem last September. Do you think it's possible he just has big tonsils? Being the worrying person that I am, I am worried about something worse than...
