    Bailey is eating Kina's coat

Stacey, yes, in fact. I got Bailey when he was 2 1/2 yrs old and they were using him as a stud. I got him fixed soon after bringing him home, hoping it would calm him down a little (never did:lol:). He does do a lot of dry humping on the two females when they get playing a lot, so I guess that...

    Bailey is eating Kina's coat

Interesting...everyone here is spayed/neutered and Bailey doesn't do this to the other female. He does stop with the bitter apple, so I'm sure it won't be an ongoing issue. I'm just more interested in the "why" of it. I'll have to check that site out...thanks.

    Bailey is eating Kina's coat

I'm back. life's been so crazy busy, I haven't been able to get on here much. Kina is adjusting nicely to our family, but Bailey (11 yr old male) keeps chewing and munching on Kina's back fur along her spine. It's only an inch long in places down her back. A friend recommended using bitter apple...

    Bed Steps

I went to Home Sense and bought 2 ottomans (fabric covered for good paw/claw gripping traction), and put them side by side at the foot board of the bed. Easy up, easy down...they all figured it out right away. I looked at the pet steps, but wasn't crazy about the quality/set up of them. This...

    Dog grooming and husband's health

Thanks for all the advice everyone....Barb, I hope you're right! We had 3 shelties before with no issues (no one was a pup). The only difference now, is that one is a pup, and that she (Kina), gets ripping around downstairs with Bailey. There is a lot of wrestling and playing that goes on down...

    Dog grooming and husband's health

Since bringing home a third Sheltie, my husband's allergies/asthma has escalated. We were able to keep it at bay, but now with a third dog it has manifested itself once again. What suggestions have you in how we can get this under control? Is there something out there that is good at limiting...

    barking on walks

My Bailey has done this forever and at 11 yrs old, I just gave up. We do find if we walk him really fast and on a short leash, that helps. (Cesar Millan's method of dog walking). Bailey's been to obedience school and all, but still no use.

    Best toys.....

Okay, I bought the small Hollee Roller and gave it to Kina over an hour ago with 2 cookies inside. There are still 2 cookies inside and a Bailey dying to get at it. (He had a different ball with a treat in it, but may need to get him a Hollee Roller too). Kina loves it and loves the fact that...

    rawhides

Bailey has always eaten rawhides and when they get smaller, he goobers and softens them up so much and then swallows the piece whole. Sidekick Kina does the same thing as well now. I asked our vet about it and he said rawhides are just fine and that they do break down and pass through. It keeps...

For those of you that use seatbelts/harnesses...

Teresa, she's beautiful! I'm glad this thread did encourage others to get seatbelts/restraints for their dogs. Sometimes it's one of those things that pet owners had never really thought about until someone brings it up to them. I know I was read the riot act years ago by a fellow Paramedic's...
