Dingleberries
I have the same problem with Jessie, whereas Josh never gets them... The "II" method works pretty well though and is just about all I can do for her :rolleyes2:
It's a bit frustrating that she never tells me when they are there... I have to keep checking what's going on under...
Herding
Josh is now 10 months old and has never seen a sheep in his life... funny really because we live in New Zealand and there's 50 million of them over here...anyways, last week, I noticed him staring at my feet when I walked across the deck and then suddenly he got up, went behind me and...
Thanks for all your replies. I hope she'll just outgrow it. I don't think she's eating too fast... she really takes her time over her food although I may check with the vet next time I take her for her checkup if she's getting all the nutrients she needs... maybe she just wants different food...
I have a somewhat yukky question: Does your Sheltie eat its own poo? :dead:
The reason I'm asking is that I have observed Jessie (10 months) doing it. Although she does not consume all of it, she will eat up to a third of what her back end just produced. Why would she be doing this? She only...
Josh and Jessie are the same! They can handle any noise except the sound of something blowing in the wind... for some reason it really terrifies them.
But that's pretty much the only thing they have in common, although they are siblings. While Josh is almost TOO outgoing (he wags his tail at...
Bienvenue!!!
Enchantee. Bonjour de Nouvelle Zelande.
Je ne parle pas français très bien. :dead:
J'ai deux chiens de Sheltie. Leurs noms sont Josh et Jessie. Ils sont un frère et une soeur. Ils ont 10 mois.
A bientot! :biggrin2:
Yep, both Josh and Jess did exactly the same when they were younger :smile2: After they'd developed stronger muscles in their back and hind legs it was no longer a problem. They are both sitting properly now, so don't worry! :wink2:
Radio and TV
They told me to leave the radio on for Josh and Jess when I went to work but they realised pretty soon that although there was human voices in the kitchen there was no actual person present to play with and cuddle them :biggrin2: so they just learned to ignore it.
Same with...
Sock and other obsessions
Oh, this is just hilarious!!! :biggrin2: :biggrin2:
Both my dogs have their individual 'hobbies' or 'obsessions': Every day Jessie collects her toys and hides them underneath her kennel and Josh tries to pick up every smooth round stone that he can get his hands...
Jasper
Oh no! Poor little Jasper, what an awful experience for both of you. I agree with the others here - don't ever take him back to this 'trainer'.
You said that Jasper was passing urine repeatedly. My Jessie did the same thing when she was a puppy. She was quite a shy little dog and...
Breeder
We got Josh and Jessie from a wonderful local breeder. She allowed us to visit the two (they are from the same litter) as often as we liked before we brought them home.
Here in New Zealand Shelties are still somewhat 'exotic' dogs ie you fortunately won't find any backyard breeders...
Thank you
Hello again and thank you so much for making me (us) feel welcome.
Our blog is on http://www.oursheltie.blogspot.com so if you haven't found us yet, go and check it out and there's tons of pix of my little guys, too.

Josh and Jessie's Ma :biggrin2:
Hi there! This looks like a great place to be. :biggrin2: We're a 9 month old brother and sister team from Wellington, New Zealand and our names are Josh and Jess. Looking forward to talking with you!
