Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

Thank you Susan! You know, at first when she threw that strange look at her collar it did not "register" in my mind. But then we "decoded" it. LOL OMG... now (I keep fingers crossed) she eats on her own her entire meal most of the time.

Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

Hmmm.. that's weird. In this case you have to make sure that the floor is sparkly clean. Did you always clean the plate? May be it was not clean enough for him? (just a thought). I wash Sandi's with soap water with paper towel .

Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

Hahaha... Yeah, we MUST "hear" them! No doubt about it. ... I tell my husband so.. I said: "Our Sandi is trying to tell us something and when we don't get it she thinks : "You are too dumb!" LOL But at least it's better later than never that we figured it out. :)

Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

Thank you Tofu pup.. really it was amazing that we finally figured it out.:biggrin2: Sandi gave us hint a few times, looking at her leash and walking away. But we took it as something unrelated to meal... until we understood. . :smile2:

Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

I thought I'd update you on Sandi's eating behavior and explain why Sandi didn't eat well and preferred spoon-fed. It was not what we all thought. LOL We have figured it out finally. And this is quite unusual reason for a dog not to eat. Turned out that Sandi's tags were knocking on the...

Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

Yeah, sounds familiar. After the night when Sandi was inactive she is not really interested in food. After the park where she runs a lot often she eats her food but that is not always the case. She still preferred spoon-fed. I am going to start a new pattern with her. But today I realized...

Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

Hi, Justicemom. I know Tofu pup gave a good advice. It makes perfect sense. Funny that after I posted it Sandi came back from a dog park and ate all her breakfast. LOL So, in our case I guess we have to wait a bit before removing her food as she has her own schedule. Well, that's OK if...

Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

You know, that was my concern - How would she go without food a long time if we take food away ...I thought she'd starve and I could not even consider it as an option. LOL (she is so sweet!) But I guess you're right. She will not starve. We have to "break" her stubbornness. BTW - we...

Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

Hi Tofu pup, Sandi just has her physical exam a couple weeks ago and everything was fine. Yeah, she eats well from the spoon and even picks up from the floor if she drops. We adopted her 3 years ago from a foster family when she was 1 year old. It's not a long time but not quite recent either...

Sandi refuses to eat on her own, prefers spoon-fed

Good evening, I am not sure if I posted it in the right forum... Please move over if you need. :) Some time ago we spoon-fed Sandi only once in awhile under "certain" circumstances. Now she stopped eating on her own. I guess she prefers to be spoon-fed now. Though it's not such a big...

Video of Sandi in dog park

Hi Mally's Mom... Thank you much for the compliment. Sandi IS much loved. She is very smart, affectionate and sweet. Seems like she is still grateful for adopting her, 3 years later. And you are correct - she does give a lot of love right back. She is a very faithful dog. When some of...
