Great action shot!

Fantastic picture! I always try to get these shots and end up with blur! How was your camera set?

I have to confess that one of my dog walking friends took this group of photos. He had a 300 mm lens. It was overcast that morning and he told me that he set the ASA at 800 and believes that his shutter speed was 1/500 second. His lens would have had IS (internal stability) built in, but I am sure that he also had a very steady hand. Try a MINIMUM of 1/500 sec speed for your action shots and see if that doesn't eliminate the blur.
