Omnivore VS Carnivore OK, I feed my guys a grain-free because it has a higher dose of protein in the diet. I usually have a hard time keeping weight on my younger shelties as they have such energy to burn what they eat. I have had the best luck with TOTW. I do occasionally feed a raw diet...

Maverick may have natural ears, but I would start about 6 weeks old (starts with the breeder). Most sheltie owners don't want to rely on the ears to be naturally tipping (at least the ones I know) so everyone gets their ears taped regardless.

I just posted a tape-related situation in the Grooming section (not sure if it was the right place) also. :) I take Karma's out every week to clean them and re-tape. Hope it helps. :)
