11 month old pees while walking....

Hi All,

Does anyone else's dog almost finishing peeing, and then just start to walk away while finishing. The other night he went for ~30 seconds, then proceeded to walk about 13 feet down my sidewalk leaving a trail behind him.
This has been going on for a while, either here, or at the dog park. He has no problem holding it for the night until we rise in the AM. No accidents in 5-6 months either.

I don't think this is a UTI situation, because it seemed to start back before he was neutered.
It also doesn't appear to be the case that he is peeing and there is run-off getting his feet wet either, though I may need to figure out how to really test this.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this. He gets to go out at least 4-5 times a day so we're not making him hold it overly long.

Olive, who is 8.25 months old, has always done a 'walking pee' and a 'walking poop'. She maintains the 'position', but walks around while taking care of business. I always thought it was because she was just 'too busy' to take care of things with any focus. :smile2:

both my girls pee-walk and poo-walk.
The rescue people told me about it when I got Callie- so glad that they did or I would have thought something was wrong.
seems lot of shelties do it:winkgrin:

Ember is a pee walker, She walks and lifts a hindleg and then the next and so on. She will only stay in one if she is on leash.

Haha Skyla does this =) Seems like there is too much going on around her for her to stay in one spot too long so she finishes pee'ing while walking off to her next location, so she does the squat walk.

Chloe walks while she pees and poos. She has always done this, and she always leaves a nice long trail behind her.

My 15 year old has done this her entire life. Missy doesn't do it when peeing, but she will do it when pooping. I always figured it was to avoid getting it on herself. Goofy dogs..
