How much should she be eating and when, breeder had her on 1/2 c. 2x per day. She still seems hungry to me.:confused2:

Welcome to the Forum, and welcome to Holly! She looks like a sweetie.

First of all, tell us what she is eating. The kind of food you're feeding makes a difference in the amount. High quality premium foods require less than supermarket foods. So the amount depends on the brand. It also makes a difference if she's eating puppy food, which she should be at this age.

That said, we usually feed puppies three times a day until they're six months old. They get about 1/2 cup at each feeding, again depending on the food. Has Holly seen your vet yet? The vet can tell you whether her weight is on track and how much food she should get. But I'd be feeding her three times a day.

Hope that helps!

Food

Pro Plan puppy, this is what she arrived with. She goes to her Vet on Monday. She is like a hungry scavenger ! Of course I have small children with lots of crumbs.....picture a furry anteater :smile2:

She was still up crying at 1030.....I fed her a bit then waited an hour and she had to go out...the put her back in her crate and she cried a bit and when to sleep.

I need to look at a better quality pet food with staying quality maybe?:confused2:

Thanks for the advice.

I had Emma on Eukanuba three times a day until she was around six months, then switched to twice a day. I think she had been getting over a cup. Once I transitioned her over to adult food, close to a year, I cut down the amount she got.

I can't remember how much we fed...but when my girl was a puppy until she turned 6 months we fed her three times a day.
