1st Sheltie, *mostly* All White & Deaf

We recently adopted a sheltie puppy that is mostly white except for a racing stripe next to his left eye and a couple of grey areas on the right side of his body. He is completely deaf, but learns very quickly.... We have a beagle named Sherlock and named our new little guy Watson. Watson learns everything (good and bad) from Sherlock, but it has honestly been a fairly easy transition.

I know there are some pretty harsh things being said about all white guys, but we didn't get him to show or breed, we took him as a pet and because the breeder who has only had 2 deaf puppies born in 40 years wanted him to have a good home and we have had a deaf/blind dog in the recent past.

This is my first post to the forum, but I look forward to learning more about the Sheltie breed. We are smitten!!

Welcome!!!

Just so you know, it's mandatory that all new members post photos of their pups... Ok ok it's not mandatory... we just like it!! :biggrin2:

Kudos to you for providing a loving home for Watson... he sounds like a great little guy!!

I am pretty sure not a single person has a harsh word toward a Sheltie here. More is meant toward neglectful or malicious breeding that saddles a pup with challenges.

Spoil Watson rotten and be sure to share pictures of him and his cohort

Welcome to Sheltie Nation:smile2: Congratulations on making Watson one of your pack. Every dog deserves to be loved and cared for. They wind up giving us so much more in return. Cannot wait to see pictures.
