Hey gang! Last year we had a successful get together, so I've been thinking about organizing another Northeast Meet Up. I don't have a specific date or place in mind yet. Maybe some time in May or early June when it's not too hot?

I was thinking about a park in Northern New Jersey. It will be close for a few states (West CT, East PA, North NJ, South NY).

This is the park I have in mind. It's called Ringwood Park.

I'm just not sure if there are grills at this park. I just sent an email to the NJ Parks Department and will hopefully find out soon.

So, who would be interested in getting together? And if you have any park or date suggestions, please post them. :biggrin2:

Hey Randi-

I did not get a chance to get up there this past weekend to check out the park. I will hopefully do that soon. That is where my horse is boarded, so I will definitely be up there soon.

As of right now, I am not available the weekend of May 14-15th or June 4th.

I would be all for it! I have most weekends off, so any would be good except the weekend of June 11th.

Riley is looking forward to seeing all the other shelties again :biggrin2:

guh, I saw this earlier and never got around to replying!

May 7th and May 21st are out for me - but otherwise, I think I'm free! It would be great to get together.

If you guys decided to do it in June (not the 5th) then I could at least try to convince DH that we should go...9 hours from Columbus.

May and early June seems to be a bad for everyone, so how's Saturday, June 18th?

And good news, I received a response to me email about the park.

"Tables, grills and playground equipment are available at the Ringwood Brook at Shepherd Lake. You can also bring in your own portable grills. Pets are permitted within the outside day use areas of the parks/forests as long as they are held on a leash (maximum length - 6 feet) and you clean up after your pet. Pets are not permitted on the swimming beaches"

So there are grills and we can bring our own as well. Also pets are allowed in the picnic area, which is perfect.

Dani, if you can scope out the park when you visit your horse, that would be awesome! If not, I can take a trip up there the end of April to make sure the place is good.

Also, if anyone has a wired xpen and can bring it, please do. It would be great if we can put 3-4 of them together and make a fenced in area for the dogs. We did this last year and it worked out great. Worst thing that happens is the park officers, tell us to take it down.
