3rd Annual Southern Sheltie Gathering: Pictures and Videos

I never did get a picture of you with your new book! But I so hope you enjoy it. It will be a book you will refer to many times. Such great history,and many tips in there.

Fun was had by all,thats for sure.

Well it is a big task,but I like to be busy,I love to cook,and it just gets done. I am a bit of a perfectionist,and sometimes Brian needs to remind me not to be cranky.

So now with 3 years under my belt,I will be making changes to the menu for next year. I see what goes,and what does not.

Everyone & thier dogs were so amazing. I could not have asked for a better day. Dogs were top notch with manners,and owners kept themselves aware of thier dogs to see to thier needs.

A special thank you to all the poop scoopers!! Keep those photos coming folks.

sorry I didn't get to reply to the other thread before it was closed- but for corbinam- Rob got that lens because of your comments and I did borrow it for some pix. to be seen later............

note to self next year- leave Michele's earlier when stopping to visit Sheltieluver on the way home.

Cran and Dix got to hang out at their birthplace and had a great time playing with Ashley's shelties. I did not take many pix there but I should have....
Callie took off in the big field and explored a good part of it- she didn't even seem too offended by the two puppies:winkgrin:

It was so funny because that was right have he got there. Came over for a gentle sniff and hi. I think she remembered him and he her. He is funny that way as if you are on his buddy list he will come by just to check every once in a while :yes:
 
I'm loving the photos AND stories, even though I haven't had a chance to look through all of the photos yet; and know that Denise must have boatloads... and that Dr. Shelli thinks that she may have gotten shotsof all 31 dogs !

I've added a few on Shutterfly. Only a few, as I had my 85 mm lens and those with zoom lenses were better suited to get the group shots. Hope this website link works:

A couple of comments:

o Regarding the lineup of dogs that we took sitting in the sand against the fence, you all need to know that they were put on sit-stays, only to find out (thanks to Joan) that we had put them sitting in ants !

o Good thing Dr. Shelli kept a close eye on Ember. Otherwise we would have to put out Amber Alerts for her. There were multiple potential abductors in the crowd.

o So glad that Michele posted the wonderful photos of Nicole and the three double merles. I ended up having to crop the few that I had taken of them in the line ups on the picnic table, as they ended up being miserably overexposed sitting with colorful dogs.

o Denise, the photo of you and Max is so endearing. Amazing that he didn't go for a ride to Alabama !

Such lovely pics! Ember does know how to get in all of them!

But I recognised Sca straight off, took me a while to figure out Spitfire, but I don't think I have seen a pic of him in full coat before.

Then there was gorgeous Mia, who has sooo grown and is stunning. It is still hard to realise she is blind. And then, was that Cranberry I saw?

Oh and so many others, baby Hartley having fun with the pack too.

Sigh, why do you have to all be over the pond? I guess I will just have to live through my Merlin double (aka Birch) who I still mistake for my own dog occasionally:biggrin2:

If I ever overcome my fear of travel I shall schedule myself in for a sheltie meet, but I will have to bring my honorary chocolate sheltie.:wink2:
 
It is so nice to see all the photos and stories, too - I just knew Miss Ember would be the hit of the party, after all the stories about her. Not surprised people wanted to dog-nap her!

All of your Shelties are so beautiful, and congrats to the many who got their CGC award. What an amazing gathering of people and dogs. I may seriously have to fly out there and participate some day.

Love the picture of the wet puppy in the pool, he/she? doesn't look too sure about it. Which pup was that?

Thanks for sharing it all with us who have to enjoy it from far away!
