A continuing Sca-ga

So after a couple of days Sca did an unassisted rollover this morning  Far from good but he has the idea now.

So
Sit : master
Look at me : good if I have food, bad if there is other dogs and things to play with
Down : excellent
Shake : excellent
Rocket off all the furniture :
Steal my shoes if they are on the floor : sadly a master
Roll Over : fast becoming an expert
Frisbee : master
Ball herding : master
Going parrot : :yes::lol:

He also now has full access in the computer room and living room (bedroom is so so but he will still do a snatch and zoom on things).

I like the one, stay off the furniture, Look what he has mastered, GOOD BOY!
Yes we will forever be tarnished with the dream of furniture that is Sheltie free :o

Good boy Sca! Can you teach Bailey to catch a frisbee and a ball? She'll run after it, but won't jump for it. Thanks Sca :wink2:
Do a roll on the side with soft frisbee's then once she gets the idea of being able to grab it on the run start the throw with a roll mixed in. Part of the challenge is you getting to throw them right. Sca started catching them when he would take off and I threw them low over his back and he would snatch it going by. Now he catches a variety but his best are still the fairly flat trajectory tosses with the high arcing ones being his worst. It also helps if she is frisbee/chasing obsessed like he is :biggrin2:

She is obsessed with the frisbee. I've been rolling and she chases it and catches it before it falls, but still won't catch it when I throw the frisbee correctly.

Give her time, Sca didn't catch them for a while. The floaters are also good (ones that kind of go out and stall before coming down) as they are so tempting for an impatient Sheltie.

Does she get there is time? When he was a normal size he didn't, then he grew and could get there and started going after them, then he grew and grew and ....

nope she usually doesn't get there in time. I've tried making her back up and I threw it directly to her and she still didn't catch it. Sometimes she does try though.

I think I need to teach her to jump. She doesn't jump off beds and couches because we have doggie stairs. Maybe if she jumped more, she would jump for a frisbee.

I've given up on frisbee and ball throwing. The boys just try and steal it from each other and I have to go chasing after it to retrieve and rethrow. Once one of them has it, the game is "keep away"

Sca has to visit for buddies (this weekend he is going to his summer home to play with Rascal and get snubbed by Bear). Last night he was in a mood. I mowed then LOTS of frisbee. Usually he wears down in the heat but nope. He even left his ball alone to get the frisbee. Of course he also woke me at 1AM huffing and puffing to go out.

lol
the snatch and run!
I made the mistake of wanting to play Frisbee with friends and didn't let Toffee chase it.. so now he thinks he's not gonna even play with it.. he points at it with his paws, and smiles :o
