A new addition ~ Jake, sable

Two weeks ago we rescued Jake. His first owners "had a new baby, maybe allergies, no time" :rolleyes2: and needed to get rid of him. He's 11 months old (April Fool's puppy) and they never took him to the vet. They didn't know him very well either. Said he didn't jump on furniture, within 15 mins of being here, he was snuggled on the couch with my 11yo. Said he didn't like boy children because their 7yo beat him with a pole  He is super attached to all three of my boys (11, 14, and 15). They are his "sheep". Said he was afraid of cats....we have four and he tries to play with them. Even the one that has swiped at him every.single.time. Said he cries in his kennel. He doesn't. He probably did for them because they would put him in it when they were home and didn't have time for him. They also tied him outside on a chain...a big no-no for shelties.

Anyway, he's a very good dog. Kind of large for a sheltie, but super smart. Even in this big ole (new to him) house, he's never had an accident. Fitting in very well with our other two shelties, lab, and lhasa.

I couldn't see your picture, but Congrats!! And bless you for taking him in. He's going to have a great life now with all your boys!!

Jake is a very lucky boy to have a home with you! Bless you for taking him. His first home doesn't sound much better than the pound. :ick

Much luck with him...he's a cutie! Can't wait to hear about all his adventures.

SOunds like he traded up to a life of spoiling

Hopefully they never get another dog (and quit having children)

Thanks for saving a sheltie in need. I wish more people would understand what they are committed to before deciding on getting a dog.

What a lucky boy to have a new home where he will loved and appreciated. His past life sounded awful. He sure is a handsome boy.
