Hey all. A few days ago, my brother bought a 12 month old alaskan klee kai female. I was a little surprised and didn't know how to react. I was thinking kota might be more comfortable with another dog around. (She was in a kennel with two other shelties when we adopted her and when asked, they said they were brought together.)
And I did talk to my brother about this because we r staying with him and I asked if in the far future to get another dog.
I mentioned I'd probably go for about a 6 m or older and I'd buy a pup this time. I was thinking maybe a papillon next time. I wanted a dog who would play with me n toys.
Well, he always liked the look of a small husky and was thinking of buying a pom/husky mix. I told him if her wanted a mix to go to a shelter instead of dishing $1000 and up for a "designer" breed. He had his mind set and I mentioned that if he really was set on a "pomskey" to look at the alaskan klee kai. I told him that with a mix like a pom and husky there is no guarantee that the size will stay small. The sizes of the pup could be the size of the pom to somewhere in the middle to as large as a husky.
He asked my why I didnt want a puppy and I told him, that as fun as a puppy would be, I don't want the puppy picking up the habits of kota. (Skiddish, not playful, ect.) I told him that there is a possibility it could happen.
And A few days go he brought home this lil girl. Her name was Lesley, but my brother changed it to lacy and them settled on Mishki.
So, here is our new family member mishki, the alaskan klee kai.
Oh and one more thing. She is playful, high energy, starting to talk, and has attached herself to me rather than my brother. oh well, it will be perfect for him too because he has a jogging partner. One who isn't shy or Skiddish of him.
Oh and last night, I had to take a picture of this. The two have become fast friends.
Oh, I am slowly transitioning the pups old food for our food brand, and its funny. Kota will try to eat Kota's food and Mishki will try to eat Kota's food, cold turkey. Lol. Time to go buy two kennels for feeding time and condition them to it for feeding.
