ACA Registered dogs

What is with ACA? They have shows and so on, but if anyone has info what ACA is about, let me know.
 
They have an event coming this month in OH. American Canine *** has the same events as AKC
obedience, agility, etc. In our newspaper dogs were listed ACA. So I was wondering how credible they
are vs AKC.
 
well, I googled them- "The American Canine Association, Inc. ( ACA) is the world's largest health tracking dog registry. ACA is America's second largest dog registry and was established in 1984."
for something that's been around since 1984, this post is literally the first that I have heard of them. doesn't seem that they are in the same league as AKC....
 
I never heard of them either until I seen a dog marked with ACA. I was wondering if anyone had more info or had
a sheltie with ACA. I always reach out for AKC, I know they are a good organization.
 
their website isn't as user friendly as AKC and doesn't seem to have as much to look at on first glance through it.
