Adopting Ringo on Saturday

I am so worried but so excited for tomorrow. I have 15 hours till Ringo joins the family. Jasper and ringo will meet at thr rescue for the first time. Then we head him for an hour drive. I guess I should put the crate in the SUV. I am going to try it first with out crating Ringo for the drive home. The rescue said he rides well.I need to stop at pet store to get 2nd crate. I am so excited. I have been thinking about this for a year. So tommorrow is a big day. I was talking to Jasper when he was on my lap tonght. I told him we have to share starting tomorrow. Guess my lap can hold both. I better get some sleep. I will be dreaming about shelties. That is a gOod thing. Thanks for all your comments.

I can tell the excitement in your post about your bringing home Ringo.I wish you many years of fun filled times with the two of them.Better have your camera charges..cause you know we will want pictures!!

So right now you're probably picking up Ringo -- I'm so happy for you!!!

We've been very fortunate when introducing our pack to a new sibling. Layla and Bit are cousins, so that was simple -- they were thrilled with each other from Day One. Annie Laurie was sniffed and sniffed back, but wasn't relaxed with anyone for a few days -- but then, she was in heat, too. Beckon came with his twelve kennel mates when Ala and Tony dropped him off en route from vacation. With sixteen Shelties running around the yard and house, it was happy mayhem, and everyone got along. The girls simply ignored Beckon for the first week, which bothered him not one whit!

Congrats! A friend just adopted a sheltie from a breeder found as a stray. He waited, put our fliers, etc.. nobody claimed her. She is about 5 years old, and drop dead gorgeous. I was so thrilled for her because she lost her two shelties due to old age.

I told the friend, I can't get over that the owner wouldn't have gone to the ends of the earth for her, she is socialized, loves other dogs, and gorgeous.

Two is great!!!
