Alittle help please.

Thanks all!

Thanks i was about to put a puppy pad in the cat carrier.(as we don't have a crate yeah, and he spends the night in my parents bathroom. but it's so big. and i want him to learn the crate.) We can't leave him out. he chews, and we have to many wires. he'll get killed in biting them. we were lucky with the last one, he bit one and got shocked but not enough to kill him just scare him.
But he was killed by a car.

By the way does any one know how to scare a dog from chasing car. Jake is still young enough that if he is scared he'll not do it or chase it.

oh and yeah, i plan on getting that book. But i have to wait until i go to Asheville. i live in Maggie valley, nc and there are no good book stores.

A can filled with rocks or coins. A metal pop can (you know, like a Mountain Dew can). Put enough rocks or pennies in it to really make noise. When he starts to go after the car, fling the can at him (in front of him, more), and yell "NO". Do that a few times and he'll stop really quick. I know mine did.

Worked with mine! They were horrid car chasers (or, rather, herders and leaders...because that car had best park where they told it to!), and I started to do that, and it worked wonders. Can't remember where I read it...

yeah, they love to herd. kids, cats, bunnies, animals, cars, bikes, anything. i know I'll have a sheltie when i have kids. They keep them in line. :biggrin2: and they never hurt you with the nipping of the heels.

When we got our first Sheltie Buttons we decided to paper train her first, it didn't take long. After we got our second Sheltie who was already mostly house trained we tried to get Buttons to go outside. It was more difficult to get her to go outside, but she soon got the idea. But, we never were able to completely break her of paper training. We had the paper down on the kitchen floor and even when we moved, sometimes she still would do her business on the kitchen floor. Now that I've been forced to work a different shift the dogs are left alone for too long so we have a neighbor to let them out a couple times a day. So I may need to paper train my next Sheltie so that I don't have to find someone to let them out all the time.

My suggestion to you is to find the books that you would like and take the information to your local library or local bookstore and have them order the books for you. hope that this will help :smile2:
