She has white on the front of her chest it is hard to pick up.

Like my boy Jamie. At the right angle he looks all black. The white stands out more because he is black

I was just looking at the different sheltie rescues and found Taffy. He looks all sable, but then again you can't really see his chest or three of his paws.

It's kinda weird seeing a Sheltie without the white ruff. Beautiful though. Goes to show how you become fixed on the idea of how a dog should look

My first sheltie did not have a white collar. Not sure if he was a purebred, he sure was built like a sheltie though. He came from the shelter. He had a tiny splash of white on his chest, between his front legs, but that was it.

Dickens doesn't have much white in the ruff either; just a short continuation of his underside.

Sounds like all sable was bred out, but was possible 100 years ago....

This is outdated? Piebald isn't on the s locus, I think. I think it inherits separately.

That's funny. I too, have the same book and never noticed it. That is very unique.. And not to mention beautiful.
