Any advice appreciated

We are all so sorry to hear that Noel is having such problems.
It is so hard to know what is best for the fur babies.
and I beleive in my heart that Noel will let you know in her own way that its time for her journey to the Bridge.

We too have had to make that awful decision with 2 shelties, and we know that our eldest William 13 & 8 mos, who has and had for a long time kidney & pancreatis issues, and the vet wonders why he is still here. He is old, but still has a good quality of life, but we know that our time with him is limited .
So we make everyday precious having him with us.

Our hearts go out to you and sending you our sheltie luv.
Sylvia & our 4 shelties William, Patrick, Sophie & Mitchell.
and our 2 angels at the bridge Bonnie & Morgan.

Noel..such a sweet name....
I am sorry she is having problems :(
The only thing I can say is that we love our pups so much, we want them to stay around as long as possible. Our dogs feel that, and will stay around just for us even when they know it is their time to go.

Sometimes we need a reality check on what is best for the dog. Doesn't make it any easier, but our pups deserve that.

Thank you Cindy! I didn't name her, but she was born on 12/26, so I imagine that's why her previous owner gave her that name. This is such a tough position to be in. If only our fur babies could talk to us. I think Noel might also be losing some of her hearing. She doesn't hear the door open anymore when I come home, and sometimes I will yell "ready to go outside?" and get no response. But I still see signs of some happiness on a daily basis, wagging her tail when I praise her, and the happy barking after her walk when she gets her food. How do you really know when "it's time"???
