Baby cereal = best training treat ever!

A friend of mine had her baby over to visit at my office, munching on an interesting type of cereal. My friend was highly amused when I asked what type of cereal it was, because it "looked like it would make a great dog treat."

The treat is Happy Baby organic puffs. It looks kind of like Cheerios, but what got me is that the label said "melts in baby's mouth." When looking for a training treat for Olive (yep, decided to go back to food), I needed something that would take her too long to chew, wouldn't be too messy, and ideally would be gluten-free as I have celiac disease and it's a pain in the butt to have to be careful about the dog treats in addition to my own food.

I bought a package of the sweet potato - the ingredients are rice flour, brown rice flour, apple juice concentrate, sweet potato, and vitamins/minerals. Very low calorie/sugar, no sodium. I'd never thought to use baby food/cereal as a treat before, but I think I'm going to keep with the idea. The ingredients are high quality, and the quality control is better than with most other products. Plus Olive loves them and my hands don't stink.:biggrin2:

What a great idea! I have Celiac's as well....so in the same boat as you! I will have to see if I can find these.
