I think it is worth it...I look at Kaleigh and her adorable lil ears and I am so glad we suffered through the process...towards the end I used chewing gum, and that was easier on both of us and reaped the desired results. On Savannah, I used tiny pieces of gum because her ear leather was so thin, I was terrified of hound ears, hers droop a bit, but she looks cute to me so that is what matters... and somedays they fly up so with her it is always a quandary.
