Beginning Agility - Questions

I think the best thing you can do as a beginner is to find a truly trustworthy, responsible breeder. I know that task can be daunting, but once you find one, the breeder will be able to tell you about the puppy's structure beforehand.

That's what I thought the answer will be. Hopefully this won't be a problem as I intend to take my time selecting a quality breeder.

I think I actually have the most short strided Sheltie ever, lol and therefore I know that next time I will pay a little more attention to the dogs build
Although I am not top competitor material, I really love agility :biggrin2:

Toffee is my heart dog, and a wonderful companion, but in hindsight a tad more outgoing, slightly less reactive and more self assured dog, woulda been a easier to deal with in the agility world.

I am a firm believer that you can enjoy agility with ANY dog, for sure! But as previously stated it's soooooo easy to get addicted to it, lol

Thanks Silaria for all that great information :o. I started my boys in May with a trainer nearby. It was the best thing I did. They both have two really different personalities and take part in two different ways. They were 2 yrs old at the time. They go once a week and get to interact with other dogs and I now have new friends.
We now fenced in part of our yard and my husband built weave poles and jumps and we bought a children's tunnel. I spend about 20 minutes with each one every morning and they look forward to their individual sessions.:smile2:
