You know, barking isn't really an issue for me. I mean, I know Sheltie's are known as barkers but Russell doesn't do much of that in the house. When he wants attention he usually just walks over and puts his head on my lap and looks at me with those brown eyes. He spends part of his time outside and sure, he barks if he senses something outside the wall. But perhaps because of my living situation it doesn't bother me. We live on a corner lot and back up against a street. So no neighbor on the back or to one side. The one neighbor we do have is almost 90 and probably can't hear much anyway
.Now, running around is something he does like to do.
