Big toys or little toys?

I am just wondering if you see your shelties showing a preference for toy size? My girls are small, and they steal the cats' toys and play with those. Or they choose the stuffies with skinny arms over the big fat toys. Are they weird or is that a bit common for the smaller shelties?
 
Mine like the smaller toys and that is what I tend to buy for them. I do have a couple of larger no-stuffits that they like. There is also a stuffed soccer ball about 8" in diameter that Natalie loves. I always ended up getting hit with it.
 
Honey has a lot of fun tossing around the small cat toys, and she likes the larger floppy tug of war stuff. She also likes to wrestle with a stuffed bear I have that is a little larger than her.

It all kind of depends on what she wants to do at the time. She grew up rough housing with larger dogs too though, not sure if that has any effect on toy preference.
 
Sunny prefers small balls with loud squeakers that she can catch. Snow is a tug freak who also can wipe out a house chasing two liter bottles. I guess the toy preference matches their personalities.

It depends what kind of playing mood Lexi is in. If she wants to fetch she likes smaller toys she can easily grab on the run. If she wants to tug or shake it around (slightly less common) she likes bigger ones.

For example, she really doesn't like the regular sized tennis balls. She prefers the smaller ones. But, she does have this giant monkey toy that is twice her size she loves to swing around.

Kaleigh likes her sqishy 3 inch ball that I got at the dollar store, she is a budding soccer talent, ha. Also this rope ring toy that has a canvas shield overlaying the rope ring that encloses a squeaker. She thinks it is the BEST, I got another one similar with a nylon type fabric finish, but she prefers the canvas topped one. It is a chew toy, a chase toy, a tug of war toy,and she likes to try and get it to squeak if she pounces on it, and when she gets tired, it becomes a pillow for her nap. Best $1.00 I ever spent, ha. I also got a plastic slipper squeaker toy at Petco, that has a flurry inset around the top edge that mimics sheepskin, and another furry type inset on the bottom, she hasn't figured out that it isn't really a real human slipper, so it keeps her from trying to cart off my actual slippers. Best plastic toy yet, ha. :smile2: She doesn't like kongs, even stuffed, she prefers that I stuff a small hoof (not sure what those things are from) but she likes to pretend to hunt and pounce on those as well, soooo adorable, the sounds that come out when she is stalking her hoof...
 
Mine like small, squeaky stuffed toys that fit easily into their mouths...the bigger stuffed toys they tend to use as pillows at naptime.
