Bitsy Boodle Goes Camping At Last

We haven't taken Bits camping since 2010 because of her arthritis. This time, DH encouraged us to give Bits a chance, that he feared she was feeling left out of everything. Well, he was right - she had a ball spending two night in the Catoctin Mountains, hiking (well, riding in her pram), kayaking, drinking out of mountain streams, and smelling the wonderful wild scents. It was like she got a new lease on life! She really loved the tent, and was very good about asking to go out to piddle.

We're already planning next summer's Bitsy Boodle adventure!IMG_8762.jpeg IMG_8723.jpeg IMG_8774.jpeg fullsizeoutput_917d.jpeg

What a blast! I am so glad that she got to join you.

Bitsy has such a kind little face. That picture of the two of you in the kayak is darling. <3

Fun and wonderful memories. Way to go Bitsy glad you had a great trip. Pictures are fantastic.

I have often wondered about "shrinking" a dog's life to try and protect them, especially as they age. So easy to leave them at home but I do think they feel left out and I'm SO glad you took Bitsy camping. I can't tell you how much her dear face looks like our Asta. Really glad to hear she had a great time and I'm sure it put a pep in her step!

I really feel sad we didn't do this sooner. But now, we're including her on many more outings, like visiting the farmer's market. With a pram, it's so easy to include our seniors!!

She looks she has a much better time than Gavin did backpacking :) We made him work quite a bit, poor guy. Although I doubt he wants a stroller, he would probably love the kayaking!
