Book Recommendation

I just read 'The Art of Racing in the Rain' by Garth Stein. The book is not about a sheltie but the entire story is told by the dog Enzo, and is his perspective on his life and how it plays out. It is one of the best books I have read in a long time, and I recommend it to anyone who likes stories with a dog. It made me laugh, made me cry and made me smile which in my world usually means it is great!

i read that book and enjoyed it. although it did make me cry...

another one i have been reading and enjoying is "you had me at woof" by julie klam. it's about a lady who works with rescuing dogs. (although it did make me cry too...)

Great book but it does bring tears. I just reread "The Man Who Talks To Dogs". It is about Randy Grimm founder of St. Louis Stray Dog Rescue. Tells the awful truth about stray dogs in urban environments and Randy's efforts to save them.

I loved it too!
I think the book that made me cry the most was "A Dogs Purpose" by W. Bruce Cameron.... more than Where the Red Fern grows as a kid and everything :eek2: lol

I'll have to look up some of the other ones posted on this thread, thanks! I love to read dog books

Now "Marley and Me" was amazing, but "Where the Red Fern Grows" made me understand a wee bit the mind of a hound dog. I still don't know why my wife's family have Beagles but I understand them a bit more...

It was lovely. I have it in PDF format if anyone wants it! I read it on my Kindle.
