Mike....there's something wrong with Cali......SHE AIN'T BARKING!!!!
My girls kick the ball around and Mya goes flippin' nuts just chasing it. After 5 min I have to take Mya inside before I'm on the nieghbors 'poop' list.

Balls sure are a great way to keep a dog excercised. A tired dog is a content dog.

No one has any ideas how to get them to actually play with the ball? I know they'd love it if I could just get them to try it.

I think a lot of it is instinctual. With my girl, I taught her to chase a frisbee by just moving it around on the ground for a bit and acting silly. She was instantly hooked. She has always chased toys and even tugged with very little encouragement from me. I got the big ball and she took to it immediately.

With my boy, he could care less. I roll it around in front of him, make it a game, chase him with it, etc...and he doesn't even give it a second thought when I roll it out on its own.

Well I finally got Missy to start playing with the ball! Except she doesn't herd it, she tries to retrieve it. I think my Sheltie is broken! It's the size of a small soccer ball, but it has those grooves in it so she can grab onto it easier than the rubber ball. She really likes it! But I am sad she doesn't try to push it around like Cali... oh well.

I had 2 that liked to fetch. Somehow that changed to Casey get the ball and hide it and Max just standing there looking at me when I throw it. *sigh*

Max had to be so quiet during his heartworm treatment (he had them when we adopted him) and so it ended up with everyone being pretty quiet. Now no one remembers how to play!
