I'm getting her started with acupuncture next week- mostly for her hips but could help other issues too.....
will let y'all know how it goes
Take my little story or leave it, I just wanted to share my experience, I thought it might be helpful. Maybe homeopathy is something that might help Callie?
A friend of mine has an old dog named Sam, a blue heeler mix who's around 12 years old. Sam had had an infection that wasn't clearing up, was having trouble walking due to arthritis and was having other health issues. He had taken such a drastic turn for the worse and was slowing down so much that it seemed as though he might not have much time left.
Sam's owner took him to a homeopath who began treating him. Sam was also put on a raw diet. In a few months Sam has done a complete turn around and is now doing extremely well, considering it seemed like he was fighting a losing battle just months before.
So I thought I'd give homeopathy a try for Toby's anxiety because of how it helped Sam. Nothing else had worked as well as I would have liked so I thought it couldn't hurt to try. I didn't really believe in homeopathy so I didn't do anymore research than what the homeopath told me, I just put my faith in her.
Over the course of several months Toby's whole demeanor seemed to even out. Personality wise he was the same goofy clown he's always been, but he slowly became more even tempered, less excitable and less stressed out by his triggers.
I've managed to lower the dose of his medication and he's doing better now than he ever did on the higher dose. I'm now hopeful I can wean him off of it completely, which I firmly believed was impossible a few months earlier.
I believe in a number of alternative therapies (including acupuncture), however was always skeptical of homeopathy, which sounds so 'airy fairy' when you do research in how it supposedly works. Its supposed to treat the whole body (physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc.) instead of focusing on symptoms or one area. I believe in science, so homeopathy is something I've never understood and still don't, but the results I've seen don't lie.
