Can you vacuum a sheltie?

My sheltie LOVED being vacuumed! ( and with a noisy vintage Kirby ). She HATED being groomed. I tried every kind of brush, comb, rake, combined with treats and it was always a battle.
Then out of complete frustrations ( and about 3 pups worth of fur with obviously much more still to come out ) I tried the vacuum, She was a bit uncertain at first, but once I got started she even let me vacuum her TAIL!!!!!

ok I wasn't going to post here, but I have to now. I got my Rockstar when he was 8 weeks old. Darn baby was so fuzzy, even then I called him the "four legged parka" My first thought when I saw how furry he was, was "Going to be grooming him a lot", so I started brushing him the day he came home. It became a game to him...mom brushes, then I attack the brush. He looked forward to the brushings even now 5 years later. Now Rocky came from a bunch of champion showdogs who were both very thick furred. As my pack grew I spent days grooming and brushing them. I have a Dyson Pet Vacuum cleaner and I use it on Rockstar when I vaccuum now. He gets all excited and sits in one place waiting to be vacuumed and when done he goes crazy barking and running around the den. It is hysterical to watch. To him it is a fun game. Now if I could just get the others to join the game I would be all set lol

I agree! I found some non sheltie videos on youtube of dogs being vacuumed. I laughed until I cried. I would love to see a sheltie being vacuumed.

I have such an odd sense of humor.

My puppy does the same thing! I was hoping her "attack the brush game" is something she'll grow out of...I guess not

I'm glad my Rockatar hasn't outgrown this, I love watching him get all excited when brushings are done. Considering how many of my dogs run when the brush comes out, I like that Rocky likes to be brushed....especially since he is so furry
