Can't tell the difference

I can't tell the difference between a bi black and a bi blue. They both look gray to me. Can anyone tell me how to look at them and tell the difference?

Bi black - totally black and white - no other colour - I think Callie's Mom has a bi black. Bi blue - like Dr. Shelli's Ember - gray, white and black.

Merle (which is the gray and black) and white

Bi blues and blue merles look a lot alike too. Blue merle have tan on them.
