I look at Tinsel every day and know that every day is now a gift to him. I know that Charlie felt the same way - how could he not? Because of you, he had love, security and good food, a warm place to sleep and left this world in a place of peace. Bless you for giving him that. I'm so sorry that you didn't have a longer time with him but the time you did have was the best of his life.
I'm so sorry you've lost him. But he did get to relax & feel real love for the latter part of his life, which is some comfort to you I hope. Charlie is why we get rescue dogs, so they can enjoy life after hardships.
I forgot to mention, that this is a new service our vet is offering, but we are getting a clay paw print of Charlie. It should be ready sometime this week. I'm also going to do the same thing I did for Princess after she left, is to print a picture of Charlie, frame it, and hang his collar around it.
So very sorry to hear about Charlie. But it sounds like he had great people who took absolutely wonderful care of him. You'll miss him terribly, but you will see him again.
The emergency clinic where Scout passed also offered the "paw print". I haven't had the strength to look at it yet...still too raw. But we do have her ashes in a nice container surrounded by pictures of her - so when I think of her, I picture the fun times and good memories.
