Chicken Jerky Treats Recall

I was just going to post about the chicken jerky, glad you got the word out.

Who would have THUNK treats came from China. Not just reading the other stuff like ingredients, where was the food made? Just awful dogs have died, and gotten sick. I think about the vets what they have to keep up with, whats the source of the problem. Good grief.
 
Last year I threw out all of the jerky I bought Danny. He really loved those treats but I just do not trust the product to be safe for consumption. I am really very conscious now of where the ingredients come from.
 
I put this up on my FB wall, and one of my cousins just let me know that their little dog was getting sick this past week, and they didn't know why. Then they saw the post and realized they just bought these.

Thanks so much for posting this Randi! The pup that was getting sick is a little 5lb Chi they recently rescued who is all white blind and deaf. She thanks you!
 
Oh dear, I just bought a bog bag at Costco last weekend, checked the package and sure enough, made in China:dead:. Those are going back! Thanks for posting this, Sheltienations is such a helpful website.

Too bad, cause my 2 love love love jerky treats. I may have to make some myself, cheaper and healthier. I also read a tip about taking chicken hotdogs, cutting them up and nuking them till they're dried out, then store in fridge for training treats. That would be easiest and I'm sure they'll go for them.
 
My sister gave me a zip lock bag with a bunch of the chicken tenders from Costco, so glad I read this before giving them to Mikos and Brie!!!

that's crossed my mind, but I really don't want to add another appliance to my tiny kitchen. I did see some instructions on making jerky in the oven, may try that w/some chicken or beef soon.

They keep going to the cabinet where the treats are and staring at it :uhoh:
 
FDA warning on chicken jerky treats

Hi all, just wanted to pass on what my Collie Rescue friends forwarded to me. Chicken jerky strips, tenders etc especially from China have made a number of dogs sick with some deaths. :eek2: The FDA has a warning out.

Since we are all probably in the market for yummy treats for Christmas, I thought I should pass on this warning. I really try not to buy anything for the dogs from China.
 
Last year I tossed all of Danny's jerky treats into the garbage. He really liked those treats. I am very concerned about the ingredients and country where his treats are from. I don't buy anything from China.
