Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul Dog Food

havent used the dog food yet, but one of my cats has food allergies so im using it for them, they are doing wonderful on it (they have been on it for about 4 months now), they have nice shiny coats and their poo is good. THey had been on Timberwolf but I didnt like one of the their coats, since the switch nice skin and coats again! :) so I really didnt help too much but it works good one cats:lol:

At the bottom of the listing on this site, it says that it would be a four Star rating except for the use of the preservative for the fish. That preservative has been changed, so it should now have a four star rating. I haven't used it myself.

Yeah, I read that, but it's still listed as a 4 star food so I'm wondering if it's since been moved up, since the review is 3 years old? It doesn't specifically state that that carcinogenic preservative is used on the ingredients list so I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer. I did this with a food that I was debating putting Sadie on.

I feed that to my GSD. Within a few days of starting on it, she began having solid stool again.

(Was allowed a little break from my grounding.)

Chicken Soup Dog Food Review
Wow, my dog really liked this stuff. I liked reading the label. I paid almost $3.00 for a small bag, which I think, is very affordable. I would rate this right beside my two highest rated dog foods. Wish Wal Mart carried Chicken Soup. I was able to get it at a feed store.

Thats a review from 2006 and you should have read on further down. Its been declared ethoxoquine free and has been upgraded.

As of today, the manufacturer is guaranteeing the use of ethoxyquin-free meat and fish sources in their foods and a statement to that effect has been placed on the front page of their website.

We therefore withdraw the comment above about ethoxyquin being present in this food (although it would apply to foods in the new formulas manufactured before this date).

All ratings now applied to Chicken Soup products are on the basis of use of ethoxyquin-free ingredients in the food. This formula now recieves the 5-star rating that was previously withheld. Users should continue to monitor the manufacturer website in case of future changes.
