Colonel Underpants Under Threat

My heart sank reading your post this morning, Chris. I know there are so many more things we can do today medically that we would never have dreamed of when I was a child. Human grade interventions for cancer treatments have come so far. I certainly hope and pray something can be done to successfully treat Beckon. My heart just goes out to you. His sweet face is stuck in my mind from the image you posted the other day. Like Trini said, at least he is not in pain. Blessings and gentle hugs to you both!
 
My heart also sank reading this post. I dealt with the splenic/liver variety with Brooke. The fact that it was not painful was my saving grace. I know the tissue ones have a few more options for treatment though. Sending you every kind of good energy for the road ahead. With your medical background I know you are prepared to take the ultimate good care of Beckon. I pray he has a good long while yet to enjoy his life with you.
 
Beckon has no idea there is anything wrong, only you do. So the burden of all of this is all on you (it really sucks).
Gavin and I are 4 years post cancer surgeries, and there have been MANY ups and downs. But he still has no idea there is anything wrong (he knows he doesn't want to use his leg, but that is it).

So just give your baby as much love as you can. Celebrate every day you can and create good memories. I think Gavin's favorite trip ever was going up the coast and hitting all the CA and OR beaches we could (after his leg healed from radiation burns). I will treasure that trip forever, he was sooo happy.

And please post here, a lot. It was and is my place to vent and tell my stories (I have some seriously long threads on Gavin, from his radiation journey to his wheelchair adventures). People in general don't want to hear you talk about your dog day after day....but we do!

Oh Chris, I'm sorry. We all hoped for a better diagnosis. But Beckon can beat this. It is treatable, and that means it can be contained. We had a similar diagnosis on Checkers' last spindle cell tumor, but so far it hasn't come back. So don't lose hope. The Colonel is relatively young and strong, and he doesn't know he's sick. Prayers will continue. Sending you big hugs.
 
I'm so sorry to read the diagnosis was not good. Great to see that there is treatment available though so hopefully they can get Beckon through this with as little discomfort as possible! My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this tough time :hugs
