Just found out today that we will be able to get one of the puppies from CISR. They are a great organization and we are thrilled to find a brother for Izzie! We pick him up tomorrow!

I do wish more Sheltie Rescues, and rescues in general, would evaluate potential adopters on a case-by-case basis.
I've been turned down so many times, even though I have trained and competed my dogs in obedience, agility, and herding, simply because my yard isn't fenced. It's very frustrating.
I finally adopted Bela through Sheltie Rescue of Georgia, who actually sent someone out to interview us and look at our yard, and let me explain how I planned to handle potty outings. They made an exception in my case, and I have my sweet Bela.
I know not every rescue has the time or resources to do home visits. But if a potential adopter has references from other rescue groups, multiple veterinarians, trainers, and boarding kennels, some exception should be made about a stupid fence.
(Oh, and by the way, I've NEVER had a runaway or lost dog in 20+ years of owning dogs!)
