Day at the park and a brag

Yesterday a friend held a dog meetup in honor of his dog who passed away last month. It was a memorial and just a day to remember those that have crossed Rainbow Bridge.

My brags:
We played some games and basically the games were those Nina Ottoson games. Mr. Koji who's also Mr. Foodie I knew would probably figure those out fast. One of them I wasn't sure about was the one where the dogs have to lift off a piece of wood with their teeth. But within a minute, Koji had it off. Too bad he thought that was the treat and started gnawing on it. Dork. But he did great! He figured out all the games and did so really fast. Amazing.

Mr Miko who's not so food motivated actually figured out the games pretty fast too. Go Miko. He doesn't like using his teeth so forget the one where you have to bite down to get it off (the one Koji figured out fast). BUT, the other games were obedience games. So, as we're heeling, sitting, downing, someone yells out, "hey, not fair, Miko's not a beginner dog, he's got his Rally title" LOL. We paired up advanced and beginning dogs. Miko got 3rd place in the "rally" game. hehehe. He only lost because he's slow when he lies/sits and speed was a factor.

I was proud of my boys. Koji didn't lunge/growl/bark at um, too many dogs (very little actually). Miko played the games and did well. Hey, at soon to be 13, he's doing great! Koji did really really well on his CGC walk through (granted though, he had a gentle leader on). And Miko, well, he stayed up through the whole thing and looked like he actually had fun.

All in all, a great day in the park (minus the windy as heck wind).

I do have to laugh at this one. Koji was the "advanced" dog. He was in a great sit stay....until my friend said, "distraction time". The ball rolling by, no biggie. But Koji just couldn't do it when he walked by with an open jar of peanut butter in his face. Koji just broke that stay and was all over my friend and I laughed even harder as Koji refused to back off of the peanut butter jar. LOL. Oh my foodie dog. :rolleyes2: We lost that one in about a minute.

That sounds like so much fun!

And congrats for both of the boys being so good. It sounds like you had a really fun day. Any pics? :biggrin2:

I was too busy playing games to take any. But here's one of Koji that someone got. He looks like he's about to blow away.

thank you for ideas, I need to put peanut butter jar under my boys noses while we training Crate Games and see what happens.
The party sounds like great fun for dogs and humans.
