Demanding Puppy!

Zulu is 5, and he still has his "wolf hour" (thanks Hanne). 7 -8 PM, every game is on the table, then he settles in for the evening. I noticed that this does not happen very often on the weekends, as he does not get much chance to nap during the day (we both work during the week).

oh, an hour's time :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
or until the dog falls asleep :winkgrin:

With age it gets shorter - Minnie is now 5 y
- now it is maybe 1-2 times a month
that all her toys need to be picked up on the couch to me
and she is "all up and calling" every time she comes with the next toy animal :lol:

We've figured out that the most effective thing is to completely ignore him until he stops. Hopefully this doesn't last forever ugh. Anyone have similar experiences?

I'm still amazed at so many people with dogs among family and friends who don't understand this. They understand it with kids, but not dogs.

Best thing I ever did was teach mine to bark on command, and then introduced to 'No' command. It works great, until it doesn't.

He has since stopped barking at us completely in the house. He now uses his toys to get our attention which is a huuuge relief. Sometimes he barks when I tease him, but I don't reprimand him for that since it usually *is* my fault haha.

Our biggest hurdle now is getting him to stop barking when we take a walk around the neighborhood. It feels almost impossible. He barks when there's a person/dog, when there's nothing. He barks while he's peeing! It's a work in progress lol
