Sorry for resurrecting this thread... I just wanted to say that Gus has been on the Trental for about 3 years ..he has not had any negative side effects from this drug and he went from having lost most of the hair on his face, and spots all over his body , and having open oozy wounds around his mouth, muzzle, eyebrows, hip, ear tips, inside his ears, and around his feet, to growing a lot of the hair back... the only areas that his hair did not fully grow back are on the areas of his face that were most severely affected.
However, he remains on the trental. I started to try to wean him down to a lower dose several times and within a week , I started to see new small spots on his muzzle ... so he remains on the drug- for now... (not sure what is going on with Trental production at this point...)
