Different Types of Shelties?

Yes! I have two over sized shelties and one that's the appropriate sheltie size. Ginny, who is 14" and should weigh 14 lbs (she's a bit chunky right now at almost 15 lbs.) has a brother in the same litter who is closer to 19-20" tall and weighs in at 32 lbs. Ginny looks exactly like a miniature version of her brother. :smile2:
 
My Miko has topped out at 19" at the withers and 32lbs (he's a bit chunky at the moment). I don't know what his brother topped out at, but when they were 11 weeks old, his brother was nothing short of HALF Miko's size. Hmmmm... now I'm curious. I think I'll email his breeder and ask about the little guy. :smile2:

Interesting you should say that, as puppies Ginny was half the size of her brother, who now outweighs her by over 15 lbs.

:eek2: I'd be sooooo shocked if I found out Miko's brother was even bigger than him now!! He was such a dainty little guy! Mind you... Miko wasn't exactly a bruiser back then either. He was "in size" all the way up until about 16 weeks and then he slowly started to creep off the chart. Even with being sickly and thin... he just got taller and taller. Then once his tummy issues were resolved the muscle tone appeared and he filled out in the giant sheltie oaf he is!! :winkgrin:
 
Riley is 17.25 inches tall. When we go out to the pet store or park, everyone always comments on how small he is compared to the other pet shelties that are around......

Then I take him to shows for socialization, where he looks like a moose! :rolleyes2: Especially next to confirmation shelties and many of the agility shelties...

Ha ha, that happened to us Saturday when we took Mikos to watch Brie at the show! He would have fit in better as a collie pup there!!
