We were interested in training our new pup to use a potty bell to tell us when he needs to go outside. I found some in my local pet store but they were $20 for what is essentially a ribbon and a few bells.
So I figured this would be really easy to DIY. I went to the dollar store and bought a lanyard (strap that's worn around the neck). This one is red and says "coffee time" on it haha, there weren't a lot of choices but I don't mind this one.
I was trying to find a package of bells but couldn't find any. I wandered into the 'summer' aisle, and there were some wind chimes with bells on them. I bought a couple and just took the bells off.
$4 later, we have this DIY potty bell. We just hung it on the back door but it's the perfect height for Barley to ring. And loud, but not obnoxious for us.
We've been ringing it everytime he goes out and he's catching on! Today he rang it twice by himself, we let him out and he peed right away.
Anyways, just thought I'd share in case someone is considering buying one. There's a lot of DIY options online too, but this is by far the easiest solution I could come up with.
