Do your shelties make a nest?

Honest to goodness Lil' Lady looks like she wants to get really compfy. I don't have a clue what a mom does before a deliver on a litter, but it looks like she is ready to have one the way she acts.

She scratches the covers until she has one the way she wants to place her head. The cover is in a knot. The bed pillows in the familyroom is a riot. She gets that cover knotted for her head on the pillow and cover, the butt is on the vent.

My husband sits there and laughs so hard, he will ask is that her butt or her head on the cover with her bed? Somedays you can't tell.

Both of my girls have done this. Chelsea would do it in the smallest little space she could find, as if it were a den. Scratch in circles, drawing in whatever 'bedding' she could, and then lay down in it. April will, but it doesn't need to be in a confined space.

Bailey always nests. She scratches her beds and my bed before she lays down to go to sleep. Because Bailey does this, she is not allowed on my new couch. It is a suede-like material and when she nests, she leaves scratches marks on the couch. Although when I am not in the room with her, I have found little paw prints on the couch!

Some do, some don't... some only do it when they think the dog bed they're about to lie down on just isn't fluffy enough! Mark would do it on my bed - I have a big poofy duvet in a cover, and he would bunch it up and fluff it up BIG before he'd finally perch on top like the princess and the pea.

Lexi does the same as Megan's Mark. She sometimes does it on the couch or even the carpet, but mostly on the bed with the big duvet. She also enjoys head-butting pillows off if she thinks they are in her way.

Abigail generally is too prim to need a blanket any other way than the way it already is - obviously it wouldn't dare lie a way to make her uncomfortable. But Duncan will throw himself on the couch/bed and crocodile roll into the blankets and pillows until he is completely covered and looks like a tamale. Oh, Duncan!

Maggie has always been a nester, she scratches and scrathes most of the time at nothing! She does this to the bed at night before she lays down. Zak had a few times but she does all the time. She has also thrown pillows off the bed and sofa before. Wonder why they do that, darn cute though.
