I'd like to purchase a dog fur dryer but have no idea what kind to get. Can anyone give me any suggestions? I recently called our vet because I wanted to get them shampoo'd and they charge $60 per dog! ouch! Its too cold here to let them dry on their own.
Thanks and Happy New Year! Helen:smile2:

I also have the Metro Air Force Commander Dryer with the 4.0 HP it has two speeds and comes with grooming tools. It doesn't get hot like a human hair dryer, dries your dog with warm to cool air really quick.

Hi, Preston. I just use my own hair dryer. I watch it to make sure their skin doesn't get too hot. I waft it back and forth, using my fingers to fluff up the wet spots, In the summer, I can allow them to damp dry. In the winter, I only bathe them in the evening and try to get them dry to the roots. They're still usually a bit damp at the roots, but by morning they're dry and it's safe for them to go out.

I agree -- do it at home. I can't afford $180 for three Shelties, and after hearing some of the horror stories, I wouldn't let a groomer but myself anywhere near my girls!:eek2:

If I could afford it, with the numbers I have, I'd get this dryer right here:

It sure would save me a LOT of time!
Being more realistic though, a friend has one just like this:

and it's fantastic. It gets the dogs dry very quickly.

The second looks like a vacuum cleaner....does it suck in as well as out!??? If so, SOLD! I'm thinking that vacuuming Ginnie might be the answer. Here I was gloating about Bacca and no shedding.....there is so much gray hair floating around right now, I don't know if it's my own or Ginnie's!:biggrin2:

NO unfortunatly it does not suck hair out. :) But it does do a wonderful Job drying! I cant remember using a regular human hair dryer. Ive had ours for about 4 years now..It does take some time for the dogs to get used to. I usually let them hear it running several times before I use it on them.
