I'm not sure how helpful this is, but David was never allergic to Timber, my forever pup, or Bacca when he got older. There were mild allergies when Bacca was still a pup.
But he reacted from the start with Indy. So I determined that it was not Shelties, but something about this particular Sheltie coat that bothers him.
And remembering that he reacted to Bacca's baby coat at the beginning and that Indy still, essentially has a baby coat, it makes me wonder if there is a correlation. Perhaps the dander is more prevalent in baby coats?
If my supposition is correct, once your new pup grows into his adult fur, then perhaps the allergies will go away. Just throwing this out there.
