Feet nicely trimmed and nails clipped. Coat freshly brushed. And boy is Claire ticked at mama. Mama is the only one who can trim her feet and clip nails. Claire comes to me to scare away thunderstorms but no way does she let me brush her out and most certainly daddy can NOT touch the royal feet.
 
Sca was that way and had toes out of joint. Any chance Claire got that from standing on cages? I was told it is common to have flyball dogs knock a toe out. I stretch his now and he is fine with it.

I will say I don't have that problem with Cleo. She actually falls asleep when I am trimming them, but my cat, it is like the world is ending if I touch his feet.
 
Lol, it's the opposite around here. I can groom and trim Forrest's paws w/o any trouble, but Roxie yanks her paws away and glares at me. She always has slightly Grich-ier paws than Forrest because of that :lol:. It's tough to trim and tidy them when they're in constant motion.
 
something is amiss

I didn't do something right with my current lil monsters. Because both of them HATE having the nails clipped or their feet touched. I tried to handle their lil paws all the time in puppy stage, didn't take I guess. My previous girls, never minded having their nails trimmed, you could play footsy/paws and they liked it. I get the stink eye when I try to tickle paws or play with paws, or hide toys under their paws. It is sticker bur season now, and I have to pull out all the stickers that get caught in the paws and long fur between toes, the girls protest greatly. Never seen such a crop as this year they are everywhere.
 
Glad to know there are others that have the same problem I seem to have with toenails. Gracie wants nothing to do with me trying to clip her nails even offering her treats!

I have in all my previous years never had problems with cutting dog nails, it was not a hit, but they were fine with it.

When I got Minnie I could be allowed to cut her nails, but when I first cut one or two nails so they bled profusely, I was getting so sorry for her.

I bought a new nail clippers, so when they had to be cut again, I went in a little panic, sweating like a madman, and again it went wrong, blood everywhere. :dead:

I had read about small grinder, but was sure that it was Minnie who would go in panic.

I bought a grinder and spent half a day to introduction - then came the big moment where we have to try on the nails, I was sweating, but she took it so well. :hugs

So now we both have it so fine with arranging her nails :yes: we do it 1-2 times a week.
