So today, my boyfriend went out and got a couple things to see if I could successfully glue Calibers ears. He's had them glued for about 2 months now, and after they came undone they started flipping up within 24 hours...so - back to the drawing board. I know it usually takes a lot longer then that anyways, but didn't expect them to flip back up so soon. The times were I had to get them glued, and re-glued I went to our soon-to-be obedience instructor, because he just simply would not hold still for me...he always thought it was a game!! So today was the moment of truth...aaaand, we had a major success!! Dr. Scholls Moleskin, and Tear Mender from Canadian Tire!! I just plopped him up on the counter, and away we went! The glue worked really well, and he didn't move at all! We'll have to see how long it stays in for, but I think it's good for a couple weeks at least!! So for anyone needing to glue ears...those two products work really good together!!

I use Speed Sew. That is what Chinooks breeder recommended, and so far, so good! Last time his ears came undone, they stayed down for a few weeks actually, then one started to creep up, so I re-glued. He was also teething at the time,and I read on this forum that sometimes when they teeth, the ears come up. He is almost 6 months now, and his ears are still glued. I am not sure when to unglue them though.

I've had Bacca's ears unglued for about 2 months now (8 months currently). Though I noticed that one of his ears is starting to fly again and at rest both ears are looking a little "houndish". So am thinking about regluing.
If you do unglue, be careful of the product you use. I finally ordered Detachol off eBay and it worked great! And Bacca did not mind the smell (Detachol is a bandage adhesive remover so its made to touch skin).

Maybe it was you who suggested Tear Mender to me?? I can't remember who did, but I know someone did! As for Speed Sew(or even Jiffy Sew)....that I would have had to order online or drive over an hour or two to get it. And shipping around this time of year could take up to two weeks. I didn't really have the kind of time...his ears were creepin' up pretty fast!! As for removing the glue/molekin, I have just been letting the moleskin fall out on its own, then once it's just hanging by a few threads, I just tug it off, then get an alcohol swab and clean his ears with it. They're really good with getting adhesive off of anything. He doesn't mind it...I just make sure I tug it in the direction the hair is going. Half the time he can't wait to get that dangling do-hickey off his ear, anyways!

I never thought of Walmart. I called all over for glue that the breeder suggested. I ended up buying false eyelashe adhesive, the gal in the fabric shop suggested it. I glued until my girl was seven months and it really did work. The ears are tipped and she will be three soon, so I am beyond the glue, never thought about Walmart. Great info.
I'm in Walmart ALL the time, and I haven't ever seen it!! I guess it depends on the store!!

lol, mine did the opposite when she was teething, they went down. They went so floppy that she had me worried for a few days but they went back up when she was feeling better and I eventually had to re glue them
