Edan sick again :(

I'm sorry to hear Edan is not feeling well. :(

I hope the test results can help you figure out why he lost his appetite and I hope it's nothing serious. Feel better Edan!

Oh, I forgot to mention the vet said he was a bit dehydrated also.

So I take it that they did not give him any fluids at the vet. Dehydration could certainly make him feel puny on top of whatever else is the issue. Poor little guy. Hopefully you'll get some answers soon.

My old cat was on ciproheptadine periodically to stimulate her appetite.

Sorry to hear about Eden , hope he starts to feel better soon, haveing just gone through a bought with Cosmo for irritated bowel syndrome for over a month now. I know how frustration it can be when they just don't want or refuse to eat, thankfully Cosmo could stand to loose a couple of pounds, were it doesn't sound like Eden can.

Hope he's feeling better soon for you.

so sorry Edan is not feeling well. I am worried that he is not eating well in general, if consider something was not to his liking in the bag of BB, he should have eaten other faves... my take there is more out of balance thing going on than just a bag of bad food...
After you do full panel blood work depending on findings you might consider finding holistic vet. GI issues are excellent for treating with herbals
How is his stool and pee?

They did give him an epidural of sterile water while we were there yesterday. Vet said the body would absorb the water throughout the day.

Until we get the tests back, I really can't move in any direction. His stool is still good and the vet said not to worry about a stool sample unless that changes. I'll know about the urine when I get the test results today because the urinalysis was included in the wellness panel.

DH seems to think he's "afraid" to eat after the 1.5 hours of throwing up. Edan hates throwing up; he runs and hides after vomiting and we have to coax him out.

I just find the food suspect because this started shortly (within a week) of a new bag of food. I can't prove its the food, especially since CJ is fine on but she has a better digestive system than Edan, or something else but its definitely suspect.

Well, I spoke to my vet and his tests came back perfectly clean, everything in the normal range and nothing near the top or bottom end of normal.

We discussed an appetite stimulant since Edan's only eating such a small amount of food once a day and drinking just as little. The vet agreed and I pick that up tonight to see if it will help him feel like eating.

If he continues not to drink enough water, I have to call the vet back and we'll deal with it then. I also have to call him on Friday morning after he finishes the Cerenia pills (which will be Thursday night).

The vet I'm seeing currently, is being very helpful through all this. He's the first vet I've really had to work through a bit of a crisis with beyond my regular vet, who is on a leave of absence until September. I'm really lucky the office near me has at least 2 very good and responsive vets on staff.

What a relief for you regarding the tests. Keeping fingers crossed that Edan finds his appetite and will drink normally. Keep us posted.
