Thank you guys for this information. Abbie has been blowing her coat, which I thought was weird being it is so late in the year. Then again, we've had some crazy weather in Florida this year.
We finally had the time to do a full grooming last night. Started with a warm bath, which she was a doll for. Then I pulled out the blow drier (after her towel dry) and DH and I both went at her with brushes. The most effective thing was line brushing with a rake/comb. We got an entire grocery bag of fur. I am not sure Abbie has any undercoat left.
Not only was she spayed a few months ago, but she is a rescue and was on who knows what kind of diet. At least she is over the skin yeast infection!
