Indy, even though he is debarked, can bark up a storm. He's favourite things to bark at were the vacuum cleaner and my blow dryer.
It was housekeeper (who wields the vacuum cleaner - certainly not me!) who found the trick. She turns to face him and in a growly face and a finger raised, says: "Ah! Ah!". It worked!!!! And without treats!
So I tried it with him the blow dryer! And it worked too! It doesn't even start to bark, so I don't even have to remind him anymore. He gets fidgety when he knows I'm about to start, but no barking.
I guess it was just finding the right cue that got his attention more than those dangerous machines!
