We've had a brutal heatwave with overnight lows in the high 70's. I had a tower fan on but interestingly the dogs did not seem to want to be in front of it. I sure was though!

Ours snapped a while back but Spitfire even sleeps in front of one at night.

That looks like my crew, both love the fan almost more than food, well food first but soon back infront of the fan... Shelites vote it one of the truly great inventions by two leggers.

Does Monty's Dad still post here?

He came on briefly a few months ago and delighted us all with Monty stories, but sadly I think he's just so busy it's hard for him to post. We all miss Darren and Monty.

They always look innocent sleeping…the nap is just them getting their energy back to be brats again!

Sadly not anymore. He has spurts of activity like last night when was getting Ian. But those only last a couple of minutes. Also he is getting more and more wobbly. Oh and if he slips on the tile he is down until helped, he stays out of the kitchen mostly. You can see his decline and someone that does not see him everyday it is probably stark. Mostly he snoozes and prefers in front of fans. In the yard if he is not snoozing he just eases along and checks stuff which was hit thing before. But zero chase and even coming to the door to come in is slow.

Yeah tiles are a bane for dogs with claws and padded feet. Mine slip a bit when they try to stand up. I had an Irish setter who would stand on the tiles and his feet would spread out and down he would go when he got older and we would help him back up and get him to the rug so he could get his footing.. tough to see such an active dog go thru that for sure.
