So about a week ago I posted that we would be bringing home a 1 year old Sheltie, changing her name and I was very anxious about the whole experience. Since then, the one year old Sable Sheltie has turned into a 3 month old Blue Merle Sheltie and we will be picking her up one Friday. I am now a little more anxious but ready to take on the challenge.

I know you are going to ask so I will just tell you how we are now bringing home a puppy rather than a dog. When we went and visited the 1 year old (to check out personality and all that) my boyfriend saw this blue merle puppy that he just fell in love with. She told him she was going to keep her for herself to show and she wasn't for sale. Since then, she has decided that she will not be big enough to show and gave us the opportunity to have her first if we wanted. After much discussion he could not be talked out of the puppy and we have committed (sometimes I think I should have just kept the email to myself and deleted it!)

Like I said I used to have a Sheltie when I was younger and know a lot about the breed, but I still would like any advice you are willing to throw my way!
And don't worry, when we get her there will be lots of pictures posted, I know how you love your pictures!

You sound like my boyfriend!! He already tried that road.. I told him going from no dogs to two... might be a little much! :eek2:

The more the merrier!!!!!! LOL. Seriously though, 2 is nice because they have a furry companion to play with and it's SO MUCH FUN to watch them. I have 4, mother & daughter, and the other two are younger and they are the bestest of play buddies!!!:wink2:
